RETHINK EVERYTHING | 2012 Equus
December 22, 2011 by HyundaiDifference, under Hyundai Equus.

The Equus engineers had the enviable task of setting a new design standard for an entire line of vehicles. Starting with the distinctive front grille, deliberate lines continue from the hood through the body to show off the staggered-width 19-inch chrome wheels. LED turn signals with HID Xenon headlights, sculpted front fog lights and the distinctive air intake further set the Equus apart in a field of conventional rivals.
Performance Wheels | The Equus has been engineered for performance from the ground up. 19-inch chrome alloy wheels with staggered-width performance tires (P245/45R19 in front and P275/40R19 in the rear) not only give the Equus a formidable look, but ensure superior handling.

2012 Hyundai Equus Competes with Lexus and Mercedes-Benz
October 18, 2011 by HyundaiDifference, under Hyundai Equus.
Hyundai was never known as a luxury automaker, but that all changed with the debut of the 2011 Hyundai Equus last year. It didn’t take long for car critics to sing the new luxury sedan’s praises, and now new changes for the 2012 model year are proving the Equus meets or beats it competitors, the Lexus LS 460 and Mercedes-Ben S550.
2012 Hyundai Equus Highlights
The most notable change for the 2012 Equus is that it will now feature Hyundai’s most powerful engine ever, the new direct-injection 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine. The new engine produces 429 horsepower and is mated to a new in-house eight-speed transmission providing Equus drivers more power and refinement.

HyundaiMotor America just announced it achieved an all-time September sales record with a 12 percent increase in total sales over last year. Thirty-seven percent of those vehicles sold in September achieve 40 mpg, proving American consumers are willing to buy a fuel-efficient car, even in a poor economy.
“Finishing September with such strong momentum is no small feat, especially considering the disappointing economic climate,” said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America’s executive vice president of national sales. “Consumer demand remained strong, vehicle availability improved, and we’ve added yet another entry to our family of standard 40 MPG fuel economy vehicles with the all-new Veloster.”
The 2012 Veloster – Hyundai’s new 40-mpg 3-door sports coupe – hit Hyundai dealerships in mid-September and American car-buyers weren’t far behind. Hyundai delivered 838 Velosters to happy owners in less than two weeks, with very strong demand from all types of buyers across the country.
Year to date, Hyundai sales are up 20 percent over 2010 in total, and up 31 percent at retail. Leading the way is Hyundai’s crossover line-up, with Hyundai Santa Fe sales increasing 67 percent and Hyundai Tucson sales increasing 36 percent. The Hyundai Equus, the highest-ranking premium luxury car in the 2011 J.D. Power and Associates APEAL study, delivered another strong month and has already exceeded its first full-year sales target.

Hyundai of Tempe Report: Study Shows Why Women Dig Guys with Hot Cars
August 27, 2011 by HyundaiDifference, under Dealership News, Hyundai Equus, Hyundai Genesis.
If you’re a single guy looking to buy a new in Tempe, listen up: the car you choose will have a direct impact on how attractive you are to the ladies.
While the notion that women dig dudes who drive hot cars is not rocket science, the science behind why women like guys with posh wheels has finally been explained. And no, it’s not what you think.
According to Reuters:
A recent study by Texas researchers proves what single men have known for a long time: Chicks dig hot cars.
Men who wear expensive clothes and drive flashy cars are more successful at having flings and staying single than their financially conservative counterparts, researchers at the University of Texas at San Antonio said.
And while it’s not exactly groundbreaking information that some women are more likely to go from the bar with a guy in a Porsche rather than a Geo, the project found the phenomenon is less about gold-digging and more about “signals,” University of Texas at San Antonio marketing professor Dr. Jill Sundie told Reuters on Monday.
By engaging in splashy personal spending, men are sending a signal to women that they want a “short term relationship,” much like peacocks trying to woo a mating partner using “wasteful, elaborate displays,” Sundie said.
“Basically, they’re just trying to convince a female that, ‘Hey, if all you’re looking for is genes, I have the best genes, so you should choose me,’” she said.
Women, pick up on that signal and respond to it — positively if she’s into that kind of thing, or negatively if she is looking for marriage material.
“Women seem to understand that when they see a man who has chosen to spend money conspicuously, they think he would be more interesting as a date,” Sundie said.
That is, if all they want is a one-nighter or something temporary. When it comes to the long term, Sundie said, flashing the cash becomes a turn-off for women.
“If you ask them to think of these men instead as a long term partner, how good is this guy as a marriage partner, the flashy spending doesn’t help him at all,” she said.
The same is not true for women, the study shows.
Researchers surveyed nearly 1,000 men and women in four separate studies to determine the signals sent by conspicuous consumption and how it is viewed by the opposite sex. Their findings were published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
Sundie stressed that not all men who spend conspicuously do so in hopes of having a fling, and women who date these types of men are not all interested simply in flings.
But the signals are clear, even if the intentions are not.
“It appears to be a behavior that is much more likely to occur if the guy is seeking short-term relationships, and he is thinking about a situation where he might be able to get one of those short-term relationships,” she said. “When they think about women, they spend lots of money.”

Hyundai of Tempe Exclusive: Free iPad with Hyundai Equus Offer Ends Next Month!
August 15, 2011 by HyundaiDifference, under Dealership News, Hyundai Equus.
Have your heart set on getting a brand new iPad in the glove box of your brand new Hyundai Equus purchase? Then you better hurry to your local Hyundai dealer, because the free iPad promotion ends next month.
Hyundai of Tempe has just learned that Hyundai is about to put the kibosh on the free Eqqus iPad that serves as the luxury car’s high-tech owners’ manual. The free iPad will no longer come with the Equus starting with the 2012 model year, which goes on sale at Hyundai of Tempe next month.
The Equus iPad owner’s manual will be replaced with a tried-and-true paperback manual. Hyundai spokesman Jim Trainor said the iPads were only intended as a one-year promotion to help boost Equus sales.
Since it debuted a year ago, the luxury Equus has made quite a splash, thanks in no small part to its high-tech owner’s manual. The electronic manual has lots of interactive features, including video demos about how to operate the luxury sedan, live Hyundai service scheduling, and a Hyundai dealer locator.
The Equus owner’s manual app will still be available for download to Equus buyers’ own iPads or other devices. You can download it for free from the iPad App Store here.
